Love (I Should Know Better) – A Poem About Being A Girl With A Crush On A Girl

Prompt 30 – Highs and Lows

Love (I Should Know Better)
She smiles at me,
but pain clutches my heart.
Such intimacy
is ruined by my want.
Seeing her happy
is all I really need.
But watching her be
with that other boy hurts.
We talk privately,
some with notes and whispers.
Then I sometimes see
them close by giggling.
We link arms with glee
buying clothes and singing.
She’s never lonely
when he comes at her call.
I worringly
wonder if to tell her.

Trying to convey the highs of her seeing her happy and being a close friend, but the lows of knowing she has a boyfriend who loves her and spends lots of time with her.
