Mexicali (A Poem)

In this city of used up lies
I walk the streets alone
finding my own way home.
Everyone’s sick and tired
of following the same route
never free to wander about.
All we need is some air.
Time to let creativity breathe
and logic leave.
Everyone needs a chance to run off
so they can find themselves
on all personality shelves.
And I ran away to Mexicali
where the sun always shines
on this broken soul of mine.
People swimming in the thoughts of children
and sleeping on the energy of ravers
filling life with mirth and savers.
I could live in a place like this
facing challenges in a new light
without tears or fright.

Another old one that I originally put up on the website I had to make sure I didn’t post it on here yet, and I did not. So, here it is. Yay!
