You Chopped Off My Head!

When I was in high school we read Macbeth, which was good, very good (but nothing compared to King Leer). As one of our final project grades, we needed to act out a scene from Macbeth, but we could modernize it, make it funny, do whatever as long as we stay true to what was going on in the scene. So my group wanted to do the scene where Macbeth was killed. I got to be Macbeth, while my friend was Macduff (that was him, right? The killer who was going to get rid of Macbeth?) So anyway, my friend chased me outside to behead me, and when get outside, when it happened, I yelled, “You chopped off my head! I am going to have such a bad headache in the morning!” It was pretty fun. And I suppose funny…everyone in class laughed anyway.

I brought this up, because I came across the script earlier today. We read some pretty cool stuff in high school. The one thing I miss about it, is I can’t find people to talk to about stuff I read, or have read in the past. No one can sit down and talk about the horror of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Masque of The Red Death”. I just can’t find anyone…maybe I should join a book club…or make my own.

I’m not a big Ernest Hemmingway fan…I read The Old Man and the Sea…it is not a fun read. Try boring, and tedious, and terrible. But, I’ve decided I am going to give For Whom the Bell Tolls a try…right after Tom Hardy’s Tess of the d’Urbervilles and Jude the Obscure.

Right now, I’m finishing up H.G. Wells’ The Island of Doctor Moreau and Emile Zola’s Therese Raquin, which in my opinion are all great books, and I just can’t wait to review them for you. They’re good, and until you read them, you don’t know what you’re missing. But I suppose you can wait until the review whether to decide if you’ll read em or not.

I pressed the “Inspire Me” button…it didn’t inspire well today. Maybe next time………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………I should write an essay of some sort. I haven’t written one in ages…what should it be about…something I need to research! Yeah, I like a good research session. I’m doomed to be a boring person.

Not boring….well read and interesting! I hated The Old Man and the Sea and actually remember being really mad that I will never get that time wasted on that book back, I’m still a little bitter. I encourage you to start a book club, my book club started so we could talk about The Da Vinci Code…so anything is possible. 🙂

Talk to me baby!
