You know how when you do something or react to something in a way you’re not particularly fond of you in a way beat yourself up or yell at your self or even have an internal conversation with yourself? Well, I decided to write out some fictional conversations to have with yourself when you feel a certain emotion, and it’s like texting yourself…if that made sense.
Me: How could I be so dumb!?
Concious: You weren’t being dumb. You were naturally reacting to the situation.
Me: That wasn’t natural!!! No one else does that!!!
Concious: Sure they do. You just don’t get to see it.
Me: Don’t get to see it!?!? You’re so stupid! I don’t see it because it never happens!! Stop trying to make it better, idiot!
Concious: Don’t say those things, MJ. You don’t mean them…
Me: I DO!!! GET OUT OF MY LIFE!!!!
Concious: But MJ…I’m a part of you….
Me: BURY YOURSELF AS DEEP AS YOU CAN WITHIN ME AN DON’T SHOW YOURSELF EVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!
Concious: Don’t cry! I’m here now!
Me: I can’t help it! My heart is so fragile it always hurts! Is this what I get for having a cracked heart?
Concious: No, no! It’s not your fault! You just need some extra loving care is all.
Me: How do you know? Will it be okay?
Concious: We’ve been through worse you know. Just take a deep breath, MJ.
Me: If you say so…
Concious: I know so. Think of gentle fields and soft breezes, rainbows the light up the sky…
Me: Things that take my mind off worries…
Concious: Yes. Better?
I was going for poetic, but I’m not sure if I hit the mark. I’ll try again next time! What do you think?
