Here’s my first of inspired writings from music! It’s not too long, so it shouldn’t be a bad read…unless I wrote it badly. I hope you like it!
Tears slid down her face as she watched him from the bed. Curled into a ball, she shook from the hurtful sadness. He didn’t even notice her as he rushed through the room, putting his possessions into bags. Dried lips parted and red eyes searching, she let out a small wail. Keeping his back to her, he didn’t even pause at the noise. She pressed her face into the quilt and quietly moaned, her long brown hair covering her.
How did it come to this? One day they were laughing with fingers laced, the next he wouldn’t even look in her direction. Was it her? Was it him? Was it just last week when he had his arms around her waist and whispered undying love in her ear? His now broken promises weighed down on her small body, forcing her soul to attempt to writhe free. If she didn’t stop crying, she just knew she’d whither away on the huge bed.
Without so much as a glance, he picked up his bags, and headed out of the bedroom. She slowly followed after him, keeping her arms wrapped around herself so she wouldn’t fall apart just yet. He stopped in the living room and lingered some, looking around but never turning around to face her. A bit of hope crawled through her as she watched him sigh and put down his bags. He walked over to the kitten they bought a month ago, and gently ran his finger down his tiny body. Then he went back to his bags, and picked them up.
She hugged herself tighter feeling as if her body was slowly falling apart right there. Tears welled up in her eyes again, but this time she worked to hold them back, taking in deep breaths. Finally, he turned his head and said quietly, “It’s over.”
