Chimera (A Poem)

I know, it’s not Saturday, but it’s a recycled poem from my previous blog on here. I thought I’d put it but since I don’t have much else to say and I don’t have a book ready to review! I hope you enjoy!

We watched the sun

set and burst upon

our fragile dreams,

breaking every hope

in the sight of pain,

driving them insane.

It’s too early now

and I’m just too late.

Hold my hand tighter

and we’ll kiss longer.

Forget what they said.

Everything is cold

in their evil eyes.

Ignore their fake cries.

We’re together now.

Lets not sleep tonight,

we really need to

but I won’t make you.

We must stay quiet

because they can hear.

Lets just runaway

from this place today

so we won’t worry

about what they think.

They want us to pause,

we know we can’t cause

what we’re living for…

is our chimera.
