A Dream’s Memory (A Poem)

So, this is from my other blog. I can’t remember if I posted this poem before, but here we go. Won’t kill us to read it again, I suppose.

They sit together in a field.
Sunlight caresses her soft skin
as the wind carries her laughter.
He smiles in her direction
as the grass pokes at his legs.

He sees her in a long white dress
with flowers clinging to her blonde hair.
She slowly walks toward him
with a heart racing around her chest.
They stand in silence gazing at each other.

They run on a beach holding hands.
Sand and sea water crawl down her legs
as the gulls follow her playful spirit.
The salty air enters his nose
as the waves hug his ankles.

She hands him a new life
with eyes like his and lips like hers.
He soothingly whispers lullabies
with joy swelling up in his chest.
They kiss celebrating the moment with passion.

Rain spills from the sky.
He leans on his cane
as the wind echoes her laughter.
He sadly looks at the stone
as the flowers dance on her grave.
