So Friday was Valentine’s Day, and I didn’t write anything cool or special, I didn’t even have the decency to wish you all a “Happy Valentine’s Day”. The truth here is, I hate Valetine’s Day. I did happen to write a wonderful poem for you all last year, but I truly hate this day.
Honestly, it was just an incident that happened in middle school that my overdramatic and super emotional mind portrayed as this huge castastrope. I mean I was 12. It’s nothing now, and it surely wasn’t the end of the world. I know…cause the world’s still spinning. But the reason as to why I’m not fond of Valentine’s Day is this…
Do I really need to have a special day to tell/show my significant other how much I truly love them? Can’t I – shouldn’t I – do that anyday? I mean, it’s not really a surprise…the whole day is centered around love. If you want a true surprise, do what you would do for your love on Valentine’s Day on like July 9th. Personally, I love writing lovey dovey cards and poems to my man (if I had one haha) whenever I want. I don’t want to store it up for one day.
Does this make sense?
